play time
July 23, 2010I can only imagine what it’s like whenever Riza would tell me how active our baby is. But last night, I was able to “play” with my little boy. I was sitting in our patio furniture and reading a book when Riza took my hand and put it in her tummy. I almost immediately felt the baby move. And when I lifted my hand, I saw Riza’s tummy make waves as if the baby is throwing punches along the stomach walls.
We were laughing, and I responded by making some little taps too, and you know what, the baby reciprocated and tried pushing too. We even put a light on my wife’s tummy for more play time. It was really awesome interacting with the baby. And we can’t wait till we finally see him.
Hong Kong jealousy
July 10, 2010My mom and aunts have been planning a Hong Kong trip for years. In the initial plans, Riza and I were to join them. But since our schedule has gooten hectic, they were all left to plan the trip. And after almost one year of talking about it, they finally booked their trip.
But they didn’t book it themselves. Their planning was taking so long and they’d decide to go and then cancel and then go again and then cancel. So Riza and I took charge and decided to do it for them to get it all over with.
Now, they are already booked, and Riza is finalizing the details and itinerary. We even sent slideshows of the good places to visit. And we can’t help but be jealous. Hong Kong was one of our best trips. And it actually was our first trip together. And you know what? We’re planning our our next Hong Kong trip! In Decmber 2011.:)
two years waiting
Riza and I have only been married for 2 years and 4 months. And we found out that she was 7 weeks pregnant a few days short of our second anniversary. And in several weeks, she’s about ready to give birth. So, if you’d really think about it, the baby took two years to make.
But for married couples, two years is a long time. I remember people around us always asking when we’ll have a baby. Riza and I were getting stressed with the pressure. I mean, we’re not just bumming around reading acne treatment review. But after two years of patiently waiting, it’s just a matter of several weeks now, and we’ll finally have what we’ve all been deaming of. Thank goodness!
destressing with a movie
July 7, 2010It takes very little for me to relax and destress. And one of those things is to watch a movie. So one time last week, Riza and I indulged a little and watched Toy Story 3. And what can I say? It was awesome! I haven’t read any reviews, but for me it was great. It provided what Riza and I needed: some to relax and distance ourselves from the mundane things in life and be entertained.
The story was quite simple (so kids can understand it), and of course there was a villain behind the nasty schemes: a pink, lovable, strawberry-scented teddy bear named Lotso. He had under his influence a gang of toys you’d want to whack senseless with bathroom fixtures but they are being fooled. The movie had enough comedy and adventure. So if you haven’t seen it yet, I suggest you treat yourself and go see it. Totally worth it!
extra time
June 30, 2010I’ve been complaining to my wife Riza about the time I loose everyday traveling to and from school. Well, I finally figured out how to almost cut my travel time to school in half. Yup! In half.
You see, I had an exam on my first class (Japanese language class) one time last week so I thought I’d go to school early. And I did arrive early. So early in fact that my usual 1.5-hour travel time only took about 45 minutes! For the first time since I started school, I was able to have a proper breakfast. And by proper meal I mean fried rice, egg, and ham. And you know what? I guess I was feeling so good that I did very well on my exam! Oh yeah!
Ever since that day, I’ve tried to be as early as possible. And my extra time has all been spent studying and/or catching up on lessons, and of course eating breakfast.
Just like onecall coupons, those few extra minutes are priceless!
