entrepreneurial bug
December 9, 2008It’s important for couples to support each other. I imagine it’ll be pretty hard doing something that your partner is totally against. Of course, it is but normal that some of the things that your husband or wife do will totally annoy you. Heck! There are even some times where I ask why she does these things. But you know what? I’m happy to do whatever makes her happy, even if that means doing something I wouldn’t normally do.
My wife was bitten by an entrepreneurial bug. She was selling cellphone credits long before we met. Then she started baking cookies and selling those too. Then cupcakes. On the first few months of our marriage, she was into direct selling. And now, my wife and her bestfriend J. has started this new partnership of handling events. They are event organizers and decorators. It first started with Mimmy Jo’s daughter’s first birthday, the details of which I posted here. Since that was superbly done, she practiced her decorating and balloon making skills whenever family occasions come up. Now it’s Ka’s son’s christening. Remember Vien Ceaucesceu? Yup! It’s his christening.
So what happens when a big boring room like the one posted above if left at the hands of my wife and her friend J.? See for yourself.
The balloons have onesie cut-outs tied at the bottom of the ballons.
Here are the table centerpieces in blue, white, and green, as per Ka’s request. Notice the chocolate candies that guests can munch on while waiting. Yum! Some of the guests even took home the leftover candies. Yes! I’m talking about you A.!
Compared to Mimmy Jo’s daughter’s first birthday a few months back, decorating this event was much easier, probably because we had more than two hours of prep time. Plus, my wife and J. had everything organized and divided into different workloads. As for me, apart from being the designated drive, I did what I do best, pumping. Pumping ballons, that is!
