limousine taxi
May 15, 2010After some last minute shopping at the Central Market, we went back to Tunes Hotel to fix our luggage and get ready for our taxi ride to the airport.
We were waiting at the hotel lobby and having a light snack, and I was in front of the hotel waiting for our taxi. Just then, another taxi that the locals there call limousine parked in front and waited for his clients. We had some small talk and I got to know that he was a Christian too. His name was Anthony. I was able to convince him to be our backup taxi just in case our taxi didn’t show up. In addition, since we were both Christians, he agreed to a very reasonable fare. If you must know, limousine taxis are more expensive than regular taxis before they’re more spacious (kinda like an Toyota Avanza or Innova). So getting him to agree on basically the same rates as a regular taxi was a blessing. I was actually so happy getting this deal that when I told Riza and our friends about the deal, we were all praying that our driver wouldn’t show up so we could get Anthony. Hehe
And you know what? Our taxi didn’t show up. We waited a full hour before we boarded Anthony’s limousine, just to be fair. The airport is about two hours away from the city, and as always, I got to talk to our driver Anthony.
In addition to some quick weight loss tips, he told me more about KL, its people and culture, his family, and some jokes. We chatted during whole trip to the airport. I think we got so close that before leaving, I gave him a quick hug and hoped to see him again.
