could have done better
May 1, 2009Due to ISO standards (I think), or some other reason, we’re not allowed to personalize our computers, unlike the old times, when we have more freedom, and we can pretty much do whatever we want. There was even a time when we had our own screensavers. Those may not seem much, but to lowly rank-and-file employees like us (yeah right!), it means a lot (just as much as we value our diet pill). For a long time, our wallpaper was just a simple green background with the company logo, which was great because the desktop icons and shortcuts are quite visible. But the company recently changed that wallpaper to this sloppy type that has drawings (made by a five year old from the looks of things) of the IT personnel (service team) and scribbled with step by step options to ask for IT assistance. They should have taken inspiration from the new Windows 7 RC1 wallpapers. I made a mosaic from some of the available free downloads. You too can get those, juts google “Windows 7 RC1″ and you’re all set. They’re so much better, right? With our IT’s vast resources, I think they can make something much more professional than their kids drawings.
